The farm bill is the very definition of Washington business as usual. In addition to giving away billions of dollars to agribusinesses that are raking in huge profits while food prices are at near-record levels, and paying farmers to keep land fallow, which raises prices further, the bill hides about $16 billion in payouts to U.S. farmers under a new subsidy program even more wasteful than the old programs.

"Defending the indefensible"
An editorial in the Union Leader admonished Congressman Paul Hodes for his indefensible support for a bloated $300 Billion Farm Bill.
